PostSubject: Tartarus' Growth   Tue Dec 07, 2010 9:22 am

Months had passed, and found Sivad, his tunic tied around his waist and tiny beads of sweat upon his body. He was working in the lean to forge, infusing small amounts of Adamantium into his glaive, combining it with the Orichalcum originally used to shape it. He concentrated on the flames, dousing them with water so they would not exceed the heat level. If it was too hot, the blade would not form right, and he'd have to start over on a brand new glaive. The sleeping quarters had been moved underground, and the original barracks was now a training room. The orchard flourished, and had expanded into a garden as well. The men were confident now, but minor setbacks had not made them over confident, they still knew that they were not invincible, and there were stronger enemies out there. A network of underground tunnels provided a secure and hidden supply route which they imported the supplies they could not find themselves. A mountain had been created by the elementalists at their back, making an attack from the rear difficult, as the mountain had been laid with traps and weak spots that would cause landslides to anyone careless enough to trigger them. The soldiers had decided on a name, they were the first Defenders of Tartarus, or The DT. A hidden moat was dug around the perimetor of Tartarus, using the idea from the first fight, any seige towers or careless soldiers to get close enough would drop into the spikes below. Archers stood at their posts, never wavering, being relieved every two hours, with two soldiers on watch, a total of 8 per side of the wall. The progress had turned the small fortress into a veritable safehouse, a self sustaining colony of soldiers born on the battlefield, and well trained with their respective weapons.

PostSubject: the kings mad plan/confrontation at tartarus.   Tue Dec 07, 2010 11:50 am

sotaynru sat waiting for his student to appear as he thought his brain sparked newer ideas to make his new to beheld kingdom one to be desired. one story crossed hsi mind as he sat there. the story of Infernara the heart of the desert. maybe it was just a fairy tale but to all of sotays knowledge al fairytales had come from one real life source or anouther. it would prove interesting this story to be true a lion that towers some buildings with a mane of multi spectural flames and his tail to match. this lion some what an incubus a gaurdian to this desert. he would take form of am extremely handsome young man to seduce the women whom woudl find them selve to drunk and stumble upon him takingthem in an adventure of sexualaity of which no woman had witnessed before. then as he would plant his seed they would become his personal dancers to rest with him in his chambers mroe or less sirens of a fire only to be witnessed by the suns play ground itself the desert. it was said in this lions domain that their were probably fifty or mroe of these women now to serve his bidding and dance for him eternaly a lesson in lust as to what it may cause you as a woman cheating on her man was punishible by death i8n this land well worse than death but wouldnt it be interesting if this gaurdian of the desert actually became the gaurdian of the gaqtes of tartarus his flames not something to be doused by water it would be quite the obstacle.his smile widened it was a long shot but could he handle this calling for a messenger at once he wrote down the entire story and it was sent off to sivad this of course being a a trip in the opposite direction far off near where the ocean hit east this was also where sotays desired kingdom empire would be so it wasnt out of foolishness entirely that he would send this man to brave the lion and of course tame him it was said that the lion only took true form around that of women other wise he would eviscerate not only the hearts of men but devour there very being as well. he would of course havve djinn accompany him at the half way mark as this was not a feat he would send one general alone to face. smiling he finished his note and the messenger was off riding towards where sivad was posted.

the men were very happy with hwo the genreral held the fort some of the small skirmishes they had encountered considering the raiders they had all vanquished them without death as of yet but what oddly perterbed them was the dust clouds in the distance they werent like normal they were swarmign wiht bits of metal this time soemthign would be different about there next encounter that was for sure. one fo the archers peered over the mound this mountain that had been created had one down side to it the raiders were earthly manipulators of the desert whom used there powers for evil they would make quick work of this mountain especially the ones the young archer seen his heart almost stopping as he ran to his general. " sir sir we must prepare for battle we must theres no easy feet that faces us upon the days of tommorow he described the armored force that marched towards them almost a wave of black cloaks with drastic weapons they numbered in the hundreds one particular oen riding upon an armored black wolf he had a skull for a mask as he lead the raiders. this would be no easy fight.( i will be playign thye raiders this round so please do not auto kill this round treat this as an actual battle)

PostSubject: Battle Plans   Tue Dec 07, 2010 1:21 pm

He smiled at the soldier as he pulled his glaive off of the coals and began to hammer upon it, reforming the blade, making it stronger, and longer. "You have placed your faith in me, I have no doubt this next battle will be the most trying of them all, but I can guarantee you we will be victorious. I have traps in place that no one else knows about, and the elementalists have cooked up tricks of their own. We can hold out in here for at least some time, and if it comes down to it we have the tunnels, they have been reinforced and cannot be brought down easily, not even our own elementalists can destroy it without using all of their powers." The clanging of the hammer echoed around them, and with Sivad completely and calm and confidence in his planning and soldiers abilities, it was hard not to believe him. He withdrew the glaive that was now a double glaive, one blade on each end of the handle. He sighed and wished for a forest where he could do some real damage, but being given what he had, he would do his best and nodded. "Rest up, but do not cause a stir in the ranks." He donned his tunic and armor and walked towards the walls. "I will watch and everyone will have plenty of time to be in place for the fight, show me your courage as you have done in the past, and we will be fine." He climbed the ladder up onto the wall and surveyed the land. He had sent a quarter of his troops into distance, hiding and waiting for the enemy's attack so they could flank from behind and the sides. The moat was a good distance away, and the fortress now had spikes along the walls, a seemingly easy climb. He stared out at the cloud and couldn't help but wonder if his lord was still testing him.

the odd thing of that night was the dust suddenly disspersed as if nothing had happened or the soldier was lying there was nothign to be seen. this would throw most men off as to wonder if the soldier had been halucinating or not but surely sivad would not drop his gaurd. the other 15 soldiers waited calmly resting up as they stood around a small camp fire. there weapons always about them the elemntalists had decided to take there tiem to rest at this point having had a heavy days work. but what happened next was of the least bit expected. all around the camp sand funnels blew up all in one moment causing them to blend and put the entire fortitude into a panic as sheets of dust and sand flew all over crashign into soldiers eyes it was hard not to panic as the only thing that was seen next was the whispy cloacks and glinting blades of the enemy. charging in withotu a sound they were quick much like demons or even very similar to te confrontation sivad had had with lord ostaynru they were clearly assassins. using the dust to hide their movements. they targetted the few soldiers that were farthest fromt he fire but oddly only one o these assassins used this relapse time of attackign the farthest to go for the boy that looked up to sivad so dearly. the whistle of projectiles came int he distance as a rain of msre than 50 arrows came over head towards the frightened troops. this tactic had not been one used yet by the raiders so it would throw them off greatly

He closed his eyes and smiled as several things happened at once. The moumtain rose up and flew towards any enemies outside the fortress, the montain being larger than the fortress, it would be hard to avoid. Sivad lept up into the air and landed on the ground like a cat, but his glaive struck the ground with such ferocity that the floor gave way. The walls of the fortress shot higher into the air and covered the inside, s
Sending everyone into extreme darkness."Fight with your senses men, just like we have been training." No one was wearing boots, they all had soft shoes on and had the homefield advantage as they were now undergrounderground. The spartans standing around the fire had been ready for it, and had already recovered and began to attack mercilessly. The young soldier who looked up to Sivad was not as quick to recover, but training with his general had increased his reflex timing and was able to avoid a death dealing blow, taking no more han a cut across the arm. The men were in high spirits as the archers sheathed their arrows and started using the blades sivad had made onto their bows. Sivad himself was already charging a group of enemies who had been dazed and confused by the ground giving way and the sudden darkness. He spun in ta circle, the double blades singing in the air as the arrows thudded harmlessly into the roof, he danced a dance of death.

the man forgot to realize that these raidersw were peopel of the same land mere outcast who failed to follow any rule of sotays so they went upon their own ruining anythign he worked for their key goal was to take his lands from him. the raiders did indeed fall intot he darkness but their bare fett made this battle mroe evenly matched than sivad had hoped. the assassins sinking into the ground now as if to dissapear it appeared as if all the raiders were gone except for a small chanting from outside the walls this fortress and the way sivad used his power would add much mental strain upon his body rising walls to create a dome was no easy feat not in the slightest. the dome began to shake as the archers of the group surrounded the area of the dome waiting to fire on the sight of the enemy without mercy. the others used their free time with their leader sitting upon hsi wolf they chanted as the desert sand started to give way soem of the raiders fell over havign heart attacks from over use of their power many had died attempting this as they aimed to sink the dome and pack the earth trapping and suffocating the men of the army if they decided to show themselves thenthe archers would attempt to make quick work of them. it wasnt very likely the general woudl have to much power left in him to do anouther great a feat as this. though his mountain trick had very much threw them off gaurd and injured or killed close to 70 of their troops whom were off gaurd.

She walked to the door slowly after hearing a knock at he bedroom door, and flinging her cat off the bed mercilessly. "Who is it?" She opened the door and received the note and read it carefully. The look in her eyes scared her cat and made him run into his little house. She brushed her hair teeth and got dressed and walked down the hall. And went outside to where he was waiting for her. She was Tired, just a little but she continued and saw him standing there and walked up to him and bowed. "Morning, Lord Sotaynru." She said with a pleasant morning smile.

PostSubject: The General's Next Move   Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:06 pm

They had planned for any eventuality, and this was one that stuck clear in their minds. The force outside would be too large to deal with, and the force on the inside was doing well, keeping up with their movements. This will not be a pyrrhic victory, he thought to himself and quietly moved around the room, touching each soldier and nodding his head. He kept at it until he was sure every last soldier understood. The sounds of metal on metal, metal on skin, groans and death gurgles began to slowly fade and recede. He nodded to 5 elementalists nearby, and they brought down the highest points of the dome on top, with little room to manuever, it was a death trap to all who remained inside. They had fled into the tunnels, following the network that branched from underneath the fortress to the surrounding area in all directions. They made tracks and found themselves at their destination. The elementalists felt through the ground for two things, the remains of the dome, and the resting point of the raiders. Breaking off pieces of the dome they hurled them into the ranks hoping to thin them out even more. Sivad himself sent a message to the party in the desert, they were to attack when a purple light shone. Quietly, while the raiders were busy dodging flying pieces of earth, the DT fighters emerged from the ground behind the army waiting outside chanting. Sivad took a quick count of his numbers, at least a quarter of his soldiers were injured, less than that dead inside. His eyes burned at the thought of losing those soldiers. He took hold of his glaive and twisted on the handle, causing it to split into another double bladed glaive. He now held 4 blades in two hands, crossing them in front of him he created a shuriken type weapon, looking left and right at his men, they nodded at him, even the young hero worshiper was ready to fight. He raised the blade high in the air and screamed as loud as possible, the soldiers voices joining in with his, their battle cry. "TARTARUS!" and launched himself at the unprotected flanks of the raiders, his soldiers following suit, the fought as quickly as they could to get into a group of the enemy where the archer's would prove less effect, except his own.

veil-
sotaynru had gotten a bit bored of waiting women were so slow at gettign ready for things. and she was looking pretty that morning he peered at her an nodded without aq word he handed her the new equipment braclets that had a large steel weight " you are to wear all four of these weights at all times capable of moving them but extremely difficult without the help of your element. in which is the only way to battle successfully with them on. now shoes off and put them on along wit this blind fold never to take this off until is ay other wise stand with your back facing me and prepare as i will be picking up rocks . he points to several rocks of different colors you see where thy are at this moment. well i wish you to keep track of what rock im picking up without lookiing only able to do so by seeing without your eyes you will understand in time." hw smiled and then wated to begint he testing.
sivad-
the soldiers were angered scared but mostly blood thirsty screaming as they charged without mercy upon the raiders the leader of the raiders hadlittle time to react sweeping a large axe around attempting to cleave the soldiers the archers were easily overwhelemed with little to no time to switch to blades the chanting soldiers stopped midway through as pat of the fortress still stuck above the earth. the turned and attempted to pull blades but before they could. o so were taken out in tens by 7s by the archers as they fired so precisely. the spartans attempted to surround the gleader but his wolf tried to pouncce on oen that was when the boy took up his sword and charged head first towards the leader throwing up semi large rocks at his wolf to knock him off blanace their blades clashed and the remaining raiders stuck their weapons in the ground taking a knee as an honorable duel had been commenced at this point the leader smiled devilishlya t this boy and raised his massive axe ready to cleave him in half as the boy readied his sword the raiders were ready to continue battle if the dt decided it but casualtys could be spared with the outcome of this duel.

PostSubject: The General's Anguish   Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:25 pm

The young boy was being foolish, to charge the leader, but a duel was a duel, and his warrior's code would not allow him to interfere, but that didn't mean he couldn't help. He placed a hand on the ground and sent his voice straight to the boy, he would feel the vibrations and would understand the words. "He is too strong for you, do not attack. Take the defensive." The boy stamped a foot on the ground to message that he had understood, and changed his stance to one Sivad had taught him. He sword arm rested by his side, the tip of his sword barely above the ground, he turned sideways, his eyes were calm and unafraid, he had the support of his platoon, but most importantly his mentor, his hero. The DT took a knee and watched, not the battle, they left that for their general. They eyed the raiders watching for sign of an attack.

She nodded at him lightly and with a small smile she did as he said and took off her shoes and put on the weights on her ankles and put the blind fold on. after glancing at the rocks remembering their colors and orders. She turned away from him and stood still. Her breath slowed and her heart beat was quiet as she waited for him to continue. In her head was nothing but the words of Sotaynru and the dream of mastering the Element Earth.

sivad-
(you will be playign the part of the soldier from this point on but still make it as if sivad is directing him ill play the part of the enemy.)
the leader growled and stomped the ground as minor wall of stone came up in front ofthe boy he slashed his large axe through the stone with crushing brutality hopeing to send the rocks towards the boy he spun with his movments a bit sloppy swinging much liek a bexerker sweeping his axe in a series of of deadly circles to cleave the boy in half eace round of circle came faster and mroe viscious.
veil-
sotaynru smiled and then without a warning he began to manuever the rocks around switchign the respective positions of each color without them leaving the ground. he expected that veil would most likely lose track as sotay was doing some very advanced trainign with her not the likes that most could handle. his generals of course as was expected but other wise only himself had become this in tune with the earth lifting the blue rock finally from the ground he waited for her to answer.

She had opened her mouth to speak but then closes her mouth. Her senses did tell her that one 'was' lifted off the ground but it didn't tell her which one was. With a small sigh she clenched her jaw tightly and and slowed her heart beat even more, putting her on the edge of death. Her mind was only set to that one that was off the ground. She finally found the answer as she opened her mouth. "Gr-" She paused and thought. 'He could have switched the rocks.. and just left that one there..but he could have moved them all.' Her mind went blank and she lifted up a hand to her chin. "Blue..." She says quietly, she picked her first guess and her favorite color thinking she got it wrong she looked down. "If I ask you a question, will you say yes or no?" She waited then asked. "If I was to ask you, is the green one off of the ground would you say yes?" She tilted her head lightly.

PostSubject: The Boy's Skill   Tue Dec 07, 2010 7:50 pm

He felt the messages of Sivad and saw the attack coming. Sivad's voice echoed in his mind and he did a backhand spring to the enemies left and crouched low underneath the axe's might. The enemy leader was getting closer and closer, he pressed his body against the ground and aimed a jab at the enemies foot hoping to score a crippling hit, but that possibility was far off. He watched the movements as the voice in his head told him to, and waited for an opening to strike.

sivad-
the boys prowess was unbelivable to the tohers whom watched everyonce in awhile the leader had lost most his balance but was able to atleast lift his foot from the stab. raising his axe not smart as he began to waver he slammed the thing down in the next second with enough force to send the sand flying into a dust cloud as well as cleave the boy right in half.
veil-
sotay smiled as he spoke. " starting over your looking fro the answer with the wrong equipment the answer lies right beneath your feet do you honestly need an example veil? he waited for her responce before he would switch them up on her again.

She nods at him and quietly firms her feet and slows her pulse. She concentrates and with out thinking she opens her mouth and the color 'blue' slips out. She lifts her head and says nothing else. She knew that had to be the right answer. It just had to be. It's was first came to her mind when she concentrated.

He rolled to the right, his arms straight above his head he avoided the axe blade and squinted his eyes through the dust. It would not take much longer for the big man to tire himself out, making it an easier fight. The boy jumped to his feet and brandished the sword, the hilt by his pelvis bone the tip extending to right below his chin, he circled the man slowly, side-stepping and strafing, the big man's outline enough to be seen through the dust cloud he waited, and anticipated his next move.

veil nods at him and sighs lightly as he puts on the blind fold. "Okay" She waits for him to be ready as she moves around the rocks and lifts the red one off the ground like he did but with her hand since she can't with the element. "Okay" She said lightly waiting for him to answer.

smiling the whole time sotay waited hsi feet bare small vibrations wading to him he could feel the shifting rocks adn the moment she took to lifting the red rock he calmly replied " red of course please go again" he named the rest of thmem withotu a single moments hesitation smiling in between each answer. "lady veil the key is to not see with your eyes but rather your feeet your body feel to see am i makign sense?
sivad-
he was right the big man was tiring and the boy could have easily ended it at this point if he tried hard enough the man lifted his axe again this time with one hand swingin it like a bat it caught the ind current and sent a fulle of dust directly towards him sharp enough to atleast knock him off blance. he swung again his rasply breathing being heard over the whistle of the blade through the air as this attack attempted now to cleave him in half either with the wind current aroudn the swing or the blade itself. he would go for a anouther swing then same as before mro e speed. as he begins to heave a bit more and is slower to get the blade up for the fourth swing

PostSubject: The Winning Strike   Tue Dec 07, 2010 9:22 pm

He dropped to his knees and jumped back to his feet, beginning to close on the big man, as he swung again he dropped yet once more, and got up, advancing even closer. Avoiding the wind current by a hair's breadth, a small line appearing on his arm, he heard the voice in is head. "Strike now, up with the blade into his socket." The boy thrust forward, his sword sliding inbetween his arm and stomach, he spun around quickly and brought his blade up into the armpit that held the axe. He pulled it out and whirled around, bringing the blade into his arm it cut into the muscle, he pulled it back and attacked once more, rolling forward he brought the blade's point straight up into the armpit's socket, the blade burst through the other side of his body, the blade's point protruded out beside his ear. "Now move around to his back and take his other arm behind his back and shove him to the ground, placing your knee on his arm hard, he will not be able to get up due to the blade." The boy obeyed, the big man was not dead, but out of commission.

PostSubject: The Boy's Mercy   Tue Dec 07, 2010 10:16 pm

They Boy lay on the ground, and Sivad went to him personally and smiled. "You did well." He picked him up and took him inside the ruined castle. He placed him in the now messy barracks. Turning around he looked at his soldiers. "You all fought exemplary, no one can call you greenhorns now. He withdrew the blade slowly and easily from the fallen leader's body. "Any one of you can fight, but to fight well like he did, takes concentration and faith. From now on, we will be more vigilant, our walls will be twice as thick, and our forces will be twice and strong. We will spend today resting and recovering the bodies of our fallen comrades, tomorrow we will honor them at first light, then we will rebuild. You all will take it easy." He raised his glaive and flashed a green light, indicating to the group out in the field that it was all clear. When they strode up and saw the bodies, they were impressed that their general had been able to do this well with so few. "You men who stood ready in the background, we need your help now. I will stand watch with you, but we need soldiers ready to fight in case they come back, we will all be relying on you." The filed inside the ruined structure, and disappeared into the tunnels, while Sivad and the others kept vigil.

Standing next to the boy, he saw that he had only overexerted himself, and would be fine with rest. "What do you want done with the leader?" Sivad asked, it was only fair as he was the one who fought. The boy opened his eyes. "Spare him, dress his wounds, feed him. When he is well enough to travel let him go, he won't be coming back here anytime soon, and if he does he will not be shown mercy this time."
